“Land” is a manifestation of pain and sorrow, together with hope and love for the land. Conceived as a response to the collective trauma experienced during and after the 2020 Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) War with Azerbaijan, the film sets out to give form, through dance, to the emotional and physical landscape of loss, forced displacement, and hope. Drawing on real stories and historical events, it is a reflective work that urges viewers to feel the depth of human suffering that comes with losing loved ones and homeland.
The film delves into the human experience, portraying the anguish and heartache of war, displacement, loss, and longing. Yet amidst the turmoil, it also celebrates resilience, connection, and the unwavering hope that ties people to their land, revealing the beauty and love that persist even in the face of adversity.
At its heart, “Land” is driven by a desire to give voice to the silenced stories of those affected by war and forced displacement. It seeks to evoke empathy and awareness, transforming personal grief into a collective experience. The film is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and to the profound bond between people and their land, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationships with home and identity.
