“Fashion Without Borders” inclusive project was implemented by MIHR Theatre in partnership with ATEX Fashion Center. The aim of the project was to encourage Armenian people with special needs / different abilities by providing them with emotional, material and social support using new avenues to promote the full and more effective inclusion of people with different abilities in social life.
The project created a multi-stage platform for the capacity building of the project beneficiaries, which would in turn help them with their future career development. Designers and models were people with different abilities who were taught to create and demonstrate cloths on national motives by the specialists of the ATEX Fashion Center and seek ways to use these patters for serial production to make the routine of people with disabilities easier and more comfortable, as well as fashionable. At the end of the project, GALA event was held on the 3rd of December, 2021, United Nations’ International day of Persons with Disabilities, where the collection of the clothes were shown and a dance piece was performed by the MIHR Theatre.
